INSIDE: LOOKING INTO THIS ISSUE
During the riots in Los Angeles two months ago, one tearful girl screamed at the television camera, "The world is saying that people of my race are not worth anything—that we're not human."
We can't listen to the cries for justice, respect, and dignity that are coming from so many parts of the world today and not feel a flood of compassion and a responsibility for being part of the healing that's needed.
The issues are obviously large and the needs are great. Yet, among these issues, a basic question remains for each of us: How can we discover our own and others' true worth? This week's Sentinel offers a spiritual perspective that has helped people answer this question.
