Whenever I have been puzzling over the answer to a particular...
Whenever I have been puzzling over the answer to a particular problem, or question, and finally perceive the answer to it, I always exclaim: Aha! So that's it! It is for the Aha's that come through the study of Christian Science that I feel most grateful. There is nothing like the sense of uplift, joy, and buoyancy that accompanies spiritual inspiration and understanding. Naturally accompanying this clearer understanding of God and of man's relationship to Him, comes healing. I would like to share one example of such buoyancy and healing.
For many years I suffered from chronic indigestion. But I remember coming home from work one evening and thinking what a "bald imposition" I was tolerating. These words come from a passage in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy which states, "The calm, strong currents of true spirituality, the manifestations of which are health, purity, and self-immolation, must deepen human experience, until the beliefs of material existence are seen to be a bald imposition, and sin, disease, and death give everlasting place to the scientific demonstration of divine Spirit and to God's spiritual, perfect man."
I had resisted calling a practitioner of Christian Science for prayerful help because I was embarrassed by the malady. But now I firmly picked up the telephone and called for help. Then, after doing some study of the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings, I decided to look up the dictionary definition of digest. One word stood out: comprehend!
