Strength to "stand the storm"
A friend stood in church one Wednesday evening recently to share an idea with the congregation. It was something that had helped her as she was praying through a challenging time for her church. She said that as she had prayed she recalled from earlier years a verse in an African-American spiritual—a hymn. The words encouraged and strengthened her:
Stand the storm,
It won't be long;
We'll anchor by and by.
