When I was at my grandmother's house on vacation, I got sick. My stomach hurt, and I couldn't walk. I talked to a Christian Science practitioner on the telephone twice that day. One thing she told me was "God is always with you." This made me feel special, almost as if God was sitting next to me. The next day, I was better, and I called the practitioner and told her, "Thank you." And God guided me the rest of the vacation.

Very early one morning, after obtaining Pru's consent, I called a Christian Science practitioner and requested prayerful treatment for Pru for what seemed to be an intestinal disorder that had become acute. This practitioner referred us to Hymn 58 in the Christian Science Hymnal. The opening lines of it are "Father, we Thy loving children/Lift our hearts in joy today." The hymn spoke to me of God's tender care for, and of, His children. Doesn't the Bible teach us that He loves us? The lines "In Thy Spirit living, moving,/We shall neither faint nor fall" reminded me that all true being is held intact in Spirit, God, rather than matter; that matter actually has no being to be ordered or disordered; that Spirit alone is Life, so all is spiritual and changeless.
