Several years ago I became aware of a small lump on the back of my head. I couldn't see it, nor did it cause me any pain, so I gave little thought to it. However, a couple of years ago it started to increase to such a proportion that I became alarmed.
The beautician who styles my hair tried, unsuccessfully, to conceal the growth by styling my hair differently. Her suggestion was that I have it removed surgically before it became even more of a problem.
Our daughter, who lives in another state, was aware of the difficulty. While she was visiting us one weekend, I asked her if she would pray with me about the condition. She agreed to do this. Also, and noting that I had expressed some uncertainty and anxiety about the outcome of changes taking place in my own life and in the lives of other family members, she suggested that I read and endeavor to put into practice the following statement in Miscellaneous Writings by Mrs. Eddy: "A little more grace, a motive made pure, a few truths tenderly told, a heart softened, a character subdued, a life consecrated, would restore the right action of the mental mechanism, and make manifest the movement of body and soul in accord with God."
