Pray about homework?
Looking beyond the desire just to get it done, this student learns about divine Mind and true intelligence.
One weekend I had five school assignments to complete. I went from one to another, becoming more and more frustrated and making little headway. The thought came to me that I could just wait until Monday and get help from my classmates.
I wasn't completely happy with this. I felt I should be able to do the work myself. But what was I to do? Was there any other option than waiting?
Yes, there was. I could pray. Prayer had been helpful in the past in solving problems. But I wondered what kind of prayer could help with schoolwork. Would it be a plea to God to make the assignments go away? Maybe God could miraculously produce answers that I would take down in dictation? Or perhaps I could make a deal with God: future good behavior in exchange for help now? As desirable or tempting as these may seem during a challenging time, I knew that I needed to look deeper for a better answer.
