At the time of the birth of our twin sons, there was great concern for one of the babies. The obstetrician called in a specialist to assist him. The doctors placed the baby in an incubator to keep him warm, but they felt only time would tell whether the child would survive. The alarming appearance of the infant, and the physicians' grave outlook, filled me with fear and grief.

During the pregnancy, a Christian Science practitioner had prayed with me to help me see God's wonderful care of all His children. We now continued to pray, and I studied far into the night. Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy was my guide to communion with God. At a certain point I realized the spiritual work had been done and the healing would come. In fact, the moment was marked by an awareness of God's presence and power. It carried with it tangible joy.

A few hours later, the doctors came into my room with radiant faces. They had returned to the hospital early in the morning and had found the infant completely transformed. Rosy of color and breathing normally, he was completely well. They took no credit for the change but heartily rejoiced with us. We were glad they could witness this healing through Christian Science treatment.
