I Write this testimony in gratitude for the many healings...

I Write this testimony in gratitude for the many healings I have had throughout the years. One that stands out is a healing of our older son when he was a baby of six months or so. We lived at a boarding school at the time and were house-parents to seven boys.

I had overheard some mothers in the laundromat discussing an outbreak of measles, and a few days later our son began showing the symptoms of this disease. My husband had to leave home to go to his classes, but I knew he would be praying along with me for the child. Then I turned to the Bible and to Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, praying to see more clearly that our son was in truth God's loved child.

I came to the place where the Bible tells of Peter walking on the water to Christ Jesus. However, "when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?" (Matthew). The import of this passage filled my thought. I saw that I had been impressed by the physical turmoil, just as Peter had been, instead of understanding the sustaining power of the Christ. I held firmly in prayer to the fact that man has an unbroken relationship to God.
