Spiritual vision and the human need

In the face of deprivation or any other restricting condition, reliance on God, Spirit, can provide practical help—and vital spiritual growth.

Is it practical to depend on God, even for the most pressing needs? The Bible is filled with experiences of men and women who turned to spiritual law to overcome such conditions as poverty, famine, sickness, imprisonment. What these Biblical visionaries had in common was their complete reliance on God.

The book of Exodus tells us that the Israelites were provided for in the wilderness with water from a rock and with manna and quails. How? Through Moses' listening for God's direction and trusting His care.

Reading Matthew's Gospel, we find that when Jesus fed the hungry multitudes, he didn't calculate how a limited quantity of food could be divided up among thousands. He acknowledged and relied on God's ample provision for all His children.
