A few years ago I had a healing for which I am particularly grateful. On the way to my car one morning, I slipped and fell. Although I was able to take the car to the garage for a minor repair as planned, it soon became obvious that I needed help.
After a week, I still could not lie down comfortably. I decided to get an X-ray. When the X-ray was taken by an orthopedic surgeon, it showed that I had three broken bones in my upper arm, and the shoulder was out of the socket about two inches.
The surgeon asked me if I had any questions and I said, "Yes. When may I go home?" He told me that I could return home right away, as he didn't usually set an arm that was in such a condition. He suggested that I wear a sling for a short time to take the weight off the shoulder. This I did. I told him, however, that I had to use the arm to play the violin with a string ensemble at a concert in a few weeks, for this was my bowing arm. He just looked at me and shook his head.
