Before our first child was born we had made arrangements...
Before our first child was born we had made arrangements to have the delivery at home. During the labour, however, the birth did not progress in the time the doctor had expected. He wanted us to go to the hospital, and the child was delivered there.
Our newborn son soon exhibited a skin condition that the medical profession has no cure for. I turned to God in prayer. As I reestablished my inner peace through prayer with the help of a Christian Science practitioner, our son's skin cleared up completely.
About three years later I discovered that I was pregnant again. I prayed to keep my thought pure and trusted divine Love to guide me and strengthen me. I engaged a different doctor, told him what had happened during the first birth, and clearly expressed my desire to have this birth at home. (I had been tempted not to tell the doctor the length of time I had been in labour.) I was watchful, however, that there was no deception on my part in any step of my preparations. I knew that the statement from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy "Honesty is spiritual power" is true. I had to choose to trust God, Truth, every step of the way.
