Where is the Saviour today?
Despite the surge of democracy the world has witnessed in many countries, millions of people still live under repressive and tyrannical regimes. There are governments and radical groups today that rule almost exclusively by intimidation, mental coercion, or ruthless force, controlling the destinies of entire populations and effectively crushing popular dissent. As a result, there are many people in the world today who may well wonder if there could ever be a savior for them.
Indeed there is. It is the saving Christ that was revealed in the life of Christ Jesus. This Christ, the power of which was the foundation of Jesus' healing ministry, has ever been present as a demonstrable power available to all. Jesus so fully embodied the Christ that his every act bore witness to the power of divine law.
Mrs. Eddy, who expounded the Science of the Christ, explains in her book Science and Health, "The Christ is incorporeal, spiritual,—yea, the divine image and likeness, dispelling the illusions of the senses; the Way, the Truth, and the Life, healing the sick and casting out evils, destroying sin, disease, and death." She goes on to say, "Jesus demonstrated Christ; he proved that Christ is the divine idea of God—the Holy Ghost, or Comforter, revealing the divine Principle, Love, and leading into all truth."
