In Africa, Latin America, Australia, Europe, and parts of Asia, shortwave radio broadcasts of The Herald of Christian Science are reaching a large audience. We thought that Sentinel readers who have not heard the broadcasts might enjoy reading adaptations from some of these radio programs.
Praying for our world
Olga Chaffee: Welcome friends. This is The Herald of Christian Science. I'm Olga Chaffee. With me here is Rob Mackusick. Like individuals all over the world who are praying about events in the Middle East, we also feel the need to respond. I was telling a friend about the motto of The Herald of Christian Science. It is a quotation from the Bible: "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds." We do have weapons. Of course, these are not the worldly, conventional weapons, but we have a very strong weapon. And that's prayer.
Rob: So many people believe in the weapon of prayer, don't they? It was interesting to me that several months ago the United States President asked the churches in this country to pray.
Olga: Every single individual's prayerful effort counts.
