As a child in an affectionate family, brought up to attend...
As a child in an affectionate family, brought up to attend and love an orthodox church, I felt very secure. Later, like most people in the process of growing up, I began to question everything and gave much thought to the nature of God. I found I could accept Him as Mind and as Love.
Around that time a new neighbour lent me a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. The book speaks of God as being Mind and Love, as well as Principle, Soul, Spirit, Life, and Truth. I realized that Christian Science was a teaching upon which I could base my life.
I began studying Christian Science systematically and attending a branch church regularly. Soon fears and anxieties, including a false sense of responsibility for many things, left me. Also, my health improved, as was evident in the overcoming of frequent colds and hay fever. I became a member of The Mother Church and an active branch church member, and in due time I took Christian Science class instruction. Since that time I have been most grateful for the constant spiritual nourishment I receive through the study of this Science.
