Christian Science has been with me all of my life, and I have been helped in many ways through its teachings. One day when I was about eight or nine, I was playing at a friend's house nearby. In her garden she had a slide; and one time whilst going down the slide, I landed on my arm, twisting it awkwardly. It hurt a lot and began to swell. My friend took me home to my mum. We went over the poem by Mrs. Eddy called "Satisfied," the first verse of which is
It matters not what be thy lot,
So Love doth guide;
For storm or shine, pure peace is thine,
Whate'er betide.
