It has been quite a few years since my last testimony appeared in the Christian Science periodicals. I have experienced much spiritual growth and many healings during these years, and I wish to express gratitude once again for all the good Christian Science has brought into my life.
One of the healings I am most grateful for is a healing of my young son after he fell down hard onto a concrete floor. At first, he could not stand up, but I comforted him and lifted him up. He was quickly healed through the prayerful help of a Christian Science practitioner and my own prayer. I prayed to see more clearly my son's perfection as in truth the spiritual child of God. I knew that he is always in the care of his all-powerful Father-Mother, God. His father, who was not a Christian Scientist then, acknowledged that this was a Christian Science healing.
More recently, I went through a period of deep depression and much unhappiness in my job and personal life. At times I felt so desperate I didn't believe that I could ever be happy or function normally again. But there were many interesting healings and much spiritual regeneration along the way to the complete healing. One of the Bible verses that really helped me was "The battle is not yours, but God's." As I considered the meaning of the verse, I realized I had been trying to be in control of the situation through personal will and effort. As I began to let God "fight the battle," so to speak, real healing began.
