For many years I have been inspired by testimonies published...
For many years I have been inspired by testimonies published in the Christian Science Sentinel. By sharing some of my own healing experiences, I hope to uplift the thoughts of others and show my deep gratitude to God and the Christian Science movement.
As a girl, I was healed overnight of ringworm on my forehead. This healing was brought about with the prayerful help of a Christian Science practitioner. The following verse was especially helpful in praying about this situation: "Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God" (Psalms). Also helpful was this passage from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mrs. Eddy: "As the reflection of yourself appears in the mirror, so you, being spiritual, are the reflection of God. The substance, Life, intelligence, Truth, and Love, which constitute Deity, are reflected by His creation; and when we subordinate the false testimony of the corporeal senses to the facts of Science, we shall see this true likeness and reflection everywhere."
I have also been quickly healed of an earache. I realized that it's common to believe that such earaches can result from swimming and from contaminated water in pools. The pain stopped, however, as I prayed and thought more deeply about God's law, especially the statement of Jesus from the Gospel of Mark, "There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him." I was completely healed and have not had another earache since this healing over four years ago.
