Confiding in God
Why tell Him?
I'm not sure He wants to know.
Do I want Him to know?
Hardness of the heart;
I see it everywhere.
My hard heart hesitates to soften;
to turn, to yield, to trust...
Humility rises slowly,
uncertain, welling up in tears.
Keep it hidden, keep it hidden.
Can I face the Light?
And yet I hear He's Love.
Love that is not blind,
not deaf, not shocked ...
and will not turn away.
Patient, infinite Love,
can You take away my pain, my fears?
Gentle Light, powerful Love,
know it all, see it all,
show me all I am ...
is Yours: wholly good.
I am ready, pride be still;
I am ready
to be the child,
to trust, to listen, to confide.
