When Davids confront Goliaths
Even in today's world, there's a way to fight against "unbeatable" odds—with the power and safety that obedience to God brings.
Aren't we always concerned about getting the true view of the scene before us, the right perspective on whatever we confront? We confront, that is; not whatever appears to confront us. There's a vital difference! To consider ourselves confronted by a situation is to feel on the defensive before a foe. But when we confront a challenge, we approach it with the conviction of our ability to master it.
Let's take a classic illustration—the Bible account of David and Goliath. Who confronted whom in that encounter?
There stood Goliath, giant in proportions and all encased in impressive armor, daring somebody to take him on in decisive, all-out combat.
