My first written testimony telling of the healing power of Christian Science appeared in the April 5, 1930, Sentinel, and another was published in the August 27, 1966, Sentinel. I am glad to again express my gratitude to God. I have come to recognize more and more that there is no substitute for an understanding of Christian Science in overcoming grief and loneliness or any other difficulty. I am truly grateful for Mrs. Eddy's discovery of Christian Science.

My son and his wife, who live in Australia, came to visit me and told me they felt it would be better if I did not live by myself anymore. They said they would hire a woman to live with me and be my companion. I prayed about this, and it came to me that there was a better way. We saw an advertisement for an apartment for rent in a local retirement home. We went to see it, and I liked it very much; we sold my home, and I moved. I am very happy here; this home is a quiet place in which to carry on my work for God and it meets my need to be with friends. And I know that my true home is established in Mind and is wholly spiritual.

Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy states: "Suffer no claim of sin or of sickness to grow upon the thought. Dismiss it with an abiding conviction that it is illegitimate, because you know that God is no more the author of sickness than He is of sin." The next paragraph says, "Meet the incipient stages of disease with as powerful mental opposition as a legislator would employ to defeat the passage of an inhuman law." I had an opportunity to prove the value of rebelling against a so-called law of matter.
