During a visit to relatives I inadvertently removed the skin off a small growth on my forehead. For several days I noticed that the wound did not heal. When I returned home I began to pray for myself, but I thought the growth was enlarging.
I worked with these Bible verses: "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God" (Revelation) and "The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul" (Psalms). I was also helped by this statement by Mrs. Eddy regarding Christian Science in No and Yes: "Science demonstrates the reality of Truth and the unreality of the error."
Gradually I came to understand better that the power of God governs our experience and those we hold dear to us. I reasoned that this power is good, wise, loving, substantive, and that these qualities are governed by the law of everlasting Truth. There is no place for disease to grow within these qualities. New, spiritual vistas began to open in my thought, and I focused on becoming more aware of the qualities of God that are present always. Each day I prayed to more actively express them. One morning I realized that the growth was disappearing. I was soon fully healed, and my forehead remains clear of any blemish.
