Let Love guide and direct your life
When Love, God, is in control, our burdens are lifted, and we feel God's presence with us every step of the way.
Imagine a love that is totally dependable and unconditional. Think of being cherished beyond measure, yet not being personally possessed. That's how God loves man—each one of us as His spiritual, beloved child. In the Bible, John puts love on this higher basis. He tells us: "We have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him."
Now, this Love that is God is not only all-presence, it is all-power. It is the divine Principle of all existence. By accepting these spiritual concepts into thought and praying with them, we are able to reject limited and perverse concepts of love. Our lives become more spiritually inclined, more useful, and more satisfying. Letting Love direct our thoughts and actions will actually lead to healing. Our thinking changes from trying to use love to our advantage ("How can I get others to love me more?") to striving actively to express God's love. This occurs as we understand that we are the totally spiritual children of God, inseparable from Him.
In truth, Love is always present, expressing its infinite comfort and care. "God only waits for man's worthiness to enhance the means and measure of His grace," Mrs. Eddy once wrote in a letter to a Christian Science church (See Miscellaneous Writings). It's not that we use Love, but that we yield to the presence of Love, which is always at hand. In truth we are the expression of Love's loving.
