One day one of my fingers suddenly became bent and I could not move it. I tried to push the finger back with my other hand, but the finger would not straighten.

This was very disheartening to me, but I prayed earnestly, recognizing that man is the spiritual child of God, His image. With the help of a Christian Science practitioner, after some time of consistent prayer I was healed and the finger became normal. I was overjoyed.

At another time, the holidays were approaching and I decided to bake some homemade cookies and cakes. I prepared all the ingredients and lined up the baking sheets and pans. Then I went to preheat the oven. As I was lighting it, the stove back-fired and there was a loud explosion in my face. I was stunned, and my face was badly burned.
