Healing through understanding the Lord's Prayer
There is more to prayer than simply repeating words, and when we grasp this fact, we find that our prayers will heal.
Perhaps no single prayer in the world has inspired more healings than the one taught by Christ Jesus and known as the Lord's Prayer. The healings, if numbered, could range in the millions. At the same time, sadly, perhaps no single prayer has been cranked out in mindless repetition more often. But prayer was never meant to go on automatic, never meant to occur as if tumbling from a mass-production assembly line.
How to keep the inspiration that heals?
Some time ago I was considering a passage in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. It says, "Prayer, watching, and working, combined with self-immolation, are God's gracious means for accomplishing whatever has been successfully done for the Christianization and health of mankind."
