Reverse those "feeble flutterings"

A little bird teaches a large lesson about God's love for all His creatures.

How often we find ourselves engaged in frantic, anxious activities, trying to help loved ones or pursuing some goal that demands a dedicated effort to accomplish. A college degree, moving to a new community, a new job. And, oh, how proud we are of ourselves when it works out! But then there may be moments when everything seems obscure and meaningless— when we feel very alone, caught up in a wave of inadequacy and helplessness.

That's when we need to ask ourselves, in deep humility, What is God seeing in all this? Because the truth is that without God there's no real action at all. God is the actor, the only Mind. He is the source of all and of only good. Man, His spiritual offspring, reflects all that God is doing. And to learn of our real identity as God's children, we can pray to express more spirituality, more love, and more goodness in our lives. As we do this, we lose our fear of being alone because we know God is always with us.

It's comforting to realize this. Then we can begin to listen for God's guidance, and answers come to us straight from the heart of divine Love, our infinite Father-Mother. With this guidance, we are led to do the right thing at the right time, with purpose and inspiration.
