Some years ago while I was measuring the dimensions of some property, I fell on the ground and heard a distinct crack in one of my fingers. When I looked at the finger it was crooked as well as painful, with indications of a broken or dislocated bone.
Immediately, I turned thought away from the physical evidence to divine Mind. I affirmed audibly that I truly am a spiritual idea of God, and that matter has no truth, life, or sensation.
As a result of this prayer the pain subsided, but the finger was still misshapen. I proceeded with my study and practice of the truths of Christian Science, knowing that God's law of adjustment is continuously in operation and that man's being is entirely spiritual and under the harmonious government and control of God, Spirit. We read in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, "Bones have only the substance of thought which forms them."
