Our family was preparing to return to our home from a vacation...
Our family was preparing to return to our home from a vacation when our teenage daughter began to show signs of illness. We had experienced many quick healings over the years by praying in the way we had learned through our study of Christian Science, so it was natural for the three of us to turn to God in this case, too. We prayed earnestly all the way to the airport and throughout the flight to another city, where we had to change planes.
It had been bothering me that this problem had presented itself hundreds of miles from home in a public place, where it was necessary for us to be on the move constantly in order to meet bus and plane schedules. Everywhere we went we were surrounded by throngs of people.
Because of my fears, I called a Christian Science practitioner as soon as we had settled down in the airport lounge to await a connecting flight. I explained our situation and asked the practitioner to support us prayerfully. She agreed, and then she reminded me how the Christ-child was cared for and protected.
