"He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings" (Psalms). This is exactly what God has done for me.

Soon after being introduced to Christian Science through a colleague of my mother's, I attended a Christian Science lecture. The lecturer told of a sailor who had climbed the mast of a ship and, looking down, became frozen with fear. His shipmates told him to look up. By so doing, the fear was broken and the sailor was able to come down safely. It was pointed out that we must look up to God and away from the downward pull of mortality. After the lecture I felt as if a weight had been lifted from me. "Look up to God" kept coming to thought. The day after the lecture a growth that had been on my body dropped away.

After this experience I became a student of Christian Science. I have had many healings since that time. Migraine headaches, from which I had suffered for several years, were healed with the prayerful help of a Christian Science practitioner. The practitioner treated me with compassion and great patience, assuring me of God's presence and power. He pointed out that the man of God's creating, made in His likeness, is immortal and that mortality never had and never could have a hold or influence on man. He also explained that once the truth has been told about a lie, the lie can never again deceive. The healing was permanent.
