All my life I have relied on Christian Science, and in the...
All my life I have relied on Christian Science, and in the many challenges I have faced, it has never failed to bring me comfort, peace, and healing. As a very young child, I began attending the Christian Science Sunday School. I remember the first healing that resulted through praying for myself. I was a young child at the time. The inside of my arm between the wrist and the elbow had lots of tiny warts on it. I remembered learning in Sunday School that God was All-in-all and that God healed, so every time I noticed the arm I said, "God is All-in-all and God will heal me." With this simple prayer the warts were completely healed in a short period of time.
When I was eleven I had a growth on the bottom of my foot. At times it was so painful, it made me limp. When my mother asked me why I was limping, I told her that my best friend said it was a plantar wart, and she had gone to the doctor to have one removed. My mother asked me if I wanted to go to the doctor or use Christian Science, but I knew clearly that I wanted to rely on Christian Science.
My mother encouraged me to read one Bible chapter each day after school before I did anything else, write down one spiritual fact from it, and begin to practice that fact. I started immediately. I loved learning the spiritual truths in the Bible, and this activity resulted in thinking more about God and less about my foot. In several weeks the growth drained; fresh skin grew, and my foot was completely normal.
