Just prior to a trip, my husband and I pray specifically about the journey. This past summer before leaving for a trip to Chicago, we prayed. We realized God's love and government are all-inclusive. And we saw that harmony, because it is produced by God, who is ever present, embraced every aspect of this trip.

The second day I looked up a cousin whom I had not seen in thirty years. I called him, and he was very happy to hear from me. I had never met his family, so plans were made to get together. In our telephone conversation he asked me if I was still interested in Christian Science. I told him that the study of Christian Science was a priority in my life. He then told me that he was an atheist and president of a local medical group.

The day my husband and I were to meet him my thumb was out of alignment. It was swollen, painful, and impossible to move. I prayed about the situation. In Hebrews we read, "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy states, "The Christian Scientist, understanding scientifically that all is Mind, commences with mental causation, the truth of being, to destroy the error.
