A Couple of years ago when I was dancing in a ballet company, I injured both ankles. The company director insisted on a diagnosis, so I cooperated. I received several medical opinions. All were in agreement that the tendons in both ankles were badly torn and that scar tissue was preventing proper movement. They said that without surgery I would never dance again and that even after surgery my chances were slim. When I returned home that day, I felt hopeless and alone. However, this was a real turning point for me.
I turned wholeheartedly to God for some real spiritual answers about my existence and purpose. I began to really know God as Love. I realized man's oneness with God, and I started to understand that in my true spiritual identity I was His exact reflection —expressing all of His wonderful qualities. For the first time in years, I stopped hating myself and began loving my true selfhood.
The other fact that became so clear to me was that evil is not the real power it claims to be no matter what form it seems to take. I understood that because God is good and He is the only Mind, there can't be any consent to evil in consciousness. In the allness of infinite Mind, God is the sole true influence on me.
