More life, not less
There is a liveliness to the lives of most of the spiritually-minded people I know.
These are people who have been putting obedience to God first in their lives, yet discovering that this produces quite a different kind of experience from the traditional stereotypes of how a religious person would live.
You simply feel a richness of life when you are with these people. You certainly don't feel their humanity has been narrowed down by their spirituality. On the contrary, it has been greatly enriched and expanded.
