Every day I thank God for all His goodness and love. I have had countless healings through the application of the truths of Christian Science. As a child I felt I could always turn to God for help in any situation. In a Christian Science Sunday School, I learned of God's ever-present love for His creation, man. I knew I could think and speak freely with my Sunday School teachers, and this made it easier to enjoy my study of the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.

When I was a teenager, I was quite concerned about my appearance. This concern drove me into a severe eating disorder known as bulimia. I tried continually to keep myself from indulging in this discordant cycle, but human will was not enough. I had to find a permanent and lasting solution. I felt my life depended on it.

Having been brought up as a Christian Scientist, I knew that through an understanding of God I could be healed. My first step was to humble myself so that I could listen to God's direction. This task seemed difficult at first. It had been a while since I had quieted my own thinking and let God do the directing. I was led to a simple but relevant statement by Christ Jesus in the Bible (Matthew): "Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?" It also came to me that God is Love, and that His love is continuously guiding and governing man.
