For children
When Jamie made peace (with Cally's help)
Jamie and Kathy had moved to a new house on the edge of a small town. Soon more houses were built. The children were happy when the Greens bought the new house next door because they had two children. Bill was six, just like Jamie; Beth and Kathy were younger. It was great to have new friends to play with!
At first the children got along. But when they played together, it always had to be in Bill and Beth's yard because Mrs. Green said so.
Jamie and Kathy had a dog named Faun, and Cally, a cat. Bill and Beth had never had a pet of their own. They watched as Jamie and Kathy took turns throwing the ball for Faun. They didn't want to play with Faun, though. They said, "No, we don't like dogs."
