Outside my apartment complex, I slipped on an icy patch...
Outside my apartment complex, I slipped on an icy patch of walkway and fell. I struggled to stand up, but I could not take one step. Eventually I was helped into my apartment, where I telephoned a Christian Science practitioner, who came immediately. I was taken to a nearby nursing facility for Christian Scientists. Before I left the apartment, I was confident I would be healed.
I will always be grateful for the spiritually based care of the Christian Science nurses at the facility; the effective prayers of the practitioner; and the many notes, cards, and flowers I received from fellow church members.
I prayed earnestly for myself, striving to learn more of my true spiritual identity as the image and likeness of God, the only cause and creator. Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy states: "There is but one primal cause. Therefore there can be no effect from any other cause, and there can be no reality in aught which does not proceed from this great and only cause."
