Overcoming the terrorist's threat

Understanding the power and allness of God destroys the fear and dismay that perpetuate terrorism.

Even if we haven't personally experienced the effects of terrorism, violent crime, depravity, dishonesty, or other forms of inhumanity, we will almost certainly be familiar with news reports of such happenings. Sometimes these accounts are about certain political "hot spots" that are geographically remote from us. Other times, we find that these troubles are appearing right where we live.

In my country, India, in the states of Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir, the terrorism and murder of innocent people continue to be a great challenge. In Andhra Pradesh state, where I live, menace from the Naxalites, a terrorist revolutionary group, became particularly alarming not too long ago. The government was doing its best to maintain peace, law, and order. But the news reports spread fear among the people. The danger seemed to be everywhere.

This got me thinking about what recourse we have in dealing with such troubles. How can we help to bring peace and a healing atmosphere in individual, family, or community life when these situations seem so dangerous? Finding an answer to this question became even more important to me when my son was threatened by the Naxalite terrorists.
