Something that greatly impressed me as a child before I was introduced to Christian Science was the dependability of the law governing mathematics. When I learned of Christian Science, I discovered with joy that in reality there is also a dependable spiritual law available to everyone, anytime, anywhere.
The chapter entitled "Prayer" in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy begins, "The prayer that reforms the sinner and heals the sick is an absolute faith that all things are possible to God,—a spiritual understanding of Him, an unselfed love."
This statement is based on provable law. The first proof I had of the operation of this law took place many years ago when I was a new student of Christian Science. My husband and I were staying on an island. One night a friend invited us to accompany him and his wife for an ice-cream treat. I had canned strawberries on my ice cream. I noted that the strawberries tasted tainted, but I didn't mention it until later.
