Healing through the operation of divine Principle
The healing of sickness in Christian Science is not mysterious. It's based on the spiritual laws underlying Jesus' healing ministry.
Our discussion one morning in Sunday School was triggered by the question of what takes place when someone is healed through prayer alone—when neither medicine nor surgery is resorted to. We were considering the healing of a former member of our branch church, of facial cancer.
It was a beautiful healing, witnessed by the whole church. The woman had been virtually disfigured by this cancerous growth, which threatened to spread further. When the healing came, through prayer alone, it was complete. The growth disappeared, leaving her intact, in perfect health, without so much as a scar or mark.
So the students asked: What took place? How could something as real and substantial-looking as that simply disappear? How did she pray to achieve such a result?
