In the light of some court cases involving Christian Scientists...
In the light of some court cases involving Christian Scientists in the United States, I would like to tell of my own experience. My parents were facing accusations of child neglect in regard to an accident I had been involved in.
I had been sledding at the time (I was ten years old). As I slid into the street a car was coming and the driver did not see me. I was severely injured and taken home on a blanket that was carried by its four corners.
My parents called a Christian Science practitioner and a Christian Science nurse, who both came to our home immediately. This happened in the 1920s, and the laws relative to children's cases were undoubtedly somewhat different at that time.
