I am very grateful to God
I am very grateful to God. I have had many wonderful healings since my husband interested me in Christian Science. Smoking, heavy drinking, a lump on my neck, severe abdominal pains, injured legs, a rash on the palms of my hands, constipation, and food poisoning are just a few of the difficulties healed since I began to study Christian Science.
One healing really stands out to me. My daughter and I were going to heat up a frozen pizza one evening. I put the pizza on a large cast-iron skillet. When I served the first piece, I used an oven mitt to remove the skillet. But when we were ready for the second piece, we were so busy talking I didn't think about what I was doing. I reached in the oven and put my hand around the handle and pulled the skillet out.
I put the pan on the stove somewhat in a state of shock. Tears were rolling down my cheeks. There was pain in my arm. I prayed to God, and my daughter also started to pray. I prayed with the spiritual truths in "the scientific statement of being" found in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and also with the Lord's Prayer.
To make a long story short, the pain stopped and there was never a mark on my hand. I did the dishes and later put work gloves on and worked in the garden with no pain.
This healing will always be remembered because it was so quick. The Bible puts it this way in Hebrews: "The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
