Trials that lift us
A statement by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, "trials lift us to that dignity of Soul which sustains us, and finally conquers them," Miscellaneous Writings, p. 126. has particular meaning for any citizen facing trial for religious beliefs and practices. Special appreciation to the young Christian Scientist parents whose trials have been in the news lately.
The Mother Church's recognition of the importance of these cases for every American citizen is highlighted by the total support each of its departments is giving.
Reports from church officials at these trials include their unanimous recognition that there is tremendous metaphysical underpinning from local Christian Scientists. Also that the need for metaphysical and financial aid from us all continues.
