Back and Forth
a dialogue with readers
Like other survey designers, we have to admit to some mixed motives. (Regular Sentinel readers will recall the reader questionnaire that appeared February 27.)
As we indicated in the introduction to the survey, we genuinely wanted to get to know Sentinel readers better—and we have! But we also wanted to encourage readers to think about becoming more directly involved in supporting the Sentinel—sharing it, writing for it, praying for it. Judging from responses, readers are willing to do just that. Some have already begun.
We don't know exactly what we were expecting by way of response, but the sheer numbers of those who took the time to fill out and send in this rather long, somewhat thought-demanding questionnaire surprised us—pleasantly surprised us. More than six thousand readers responded.
