Simple words of truth, as understood in Christian Science, can heal, overcome fear, and allow us to feel God's omnipotent, omnipresent, harmonious action. Recently I had an experience that illustrated this while I was riding as the only passenger in my son David's light airplane. He was the pilot.
Our office is about seventy miles from my home near the Orange County Airport. One evening my son offered to fly me home. I replied in jest, "Is your flying machine in good working order?" He answered: "It should be. I just had it serviced." He called the service company, and they said everything was fine. We decided it would be fun.
We drove to the airport, rolled out the airplane, and checked out all of the inspection check points. In the meantime David had talked to the control tower by radio and received permission to taxi to the takeoff line. We were soon enjoying the scenery from six thousand feet.
