The reward of following Christ Jesus
Can you imagine what it must have been like to witness what Christ Jesus did? For example, one day he came to Capernaum. No sooner had he entered the town than he received a call for help from a man whose servant "was sick, and ready to die." Jesus responded, and quickly "the servant [was found] whole that had been sick." Luke 7:2, 10.
The following day Jesus traveled to another town. A woman's son who had died was being carried out. Jesus told the woman not to grieve, and when he came to the stretcher where the man's body was lying, he said, "Young man, I say unto thee, Arise." Luke 7:14. Instantly the young man revived.
Of course, most of Jesus' healings are not described in such detail in the Gospels. But there are so many accounts of healing, including passages where we simply read that "they brought unto him all sick people ... and he healed them." Matt. 4:24. And similar healing by Jesus' followers continued for many generations.
