As the parent of two young boys, I am most happy to attest to the healing power of Christian Science to meet our needs. Sometimes the healings have come rapidly; other times the progress has been more gradual, with many lessons learned along the way. I would like to share two of these healings and to give gratitude to God, "who healeth all thy diseases" (Ps. 103:3).

One day when our older child was four, he was playing outside with his cousin while I did some work in the basement. Suddenly they came bursting through the door to report that my son had been stung by a bee. I offered a few words of comfort, but soon the child began scratching and asking me to remove his shoes and socks. I carried him into my bedroom. His body was becoming extremely swollen and red.

I telephoned a Christian Science practitioner, who readily answered my plea for help. She firmly quoted these words from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy: "Nothing inharmonious can enter being, for Life is God." She repeated the statement a second time with such assurance and conviction that I accepted this truth without fully comprehending why. [The full passage in Science and Health reads (p. 228), "The transmission of disease or of certain idiosyncrasies of mortal mind would be impossible if this great fact of being were learned,—namely, that nothing inharmonious can enter being, for Life is God."]
