Truly, God never fails us

Truly, God never fails us. Looking back over many experiences in which I have proved the power of God's law over inharmonious situations, I am filled with awe and gratitude.

I am especially grateful for the loving home in which I was raised, where my parents turned to Christian Science to solve our family's problems. In my own growing family our two younger boys have had quick healings of croup, earache, and the effects of accidents. And it is a joy to witness our two grown sons practicing for themselves the spiritual truths they have learned in the Christian Science Sunday School.

Two decisive healings I experienced continue to give me inspiration. Tonsillitis had been a recurring problem over several years. While suffering one winter from this ailment, I pondered Naaman's healing of leprosy (see II Kings 5: 1–14). I decided that I too could dip myself into the Jordan River (figuratively, of course!) by confidently and humbly identifying myself as the expression of the synonyms for God that Mary Baker Eddy gives us on page 465 of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures: Principle, Mind, Soul, Spirit, Life, Truth, Love. As I prayerfully claimed that man—as God's reflection—embodies the qualities associated with each of these synonyms, the symptoms of disease vanished and I was permanently healed. (This took place over ten years ago.)
