It has been several years since I was led to study Christian Science and join The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston. For many years I had been a member of another Christian church, but in recent years I had felt a need to know and understand God better. That need was met when, at the home of a Christian Scientist friend in the United States, my wife was impressed by the religious articles she read in The Christian Science Monitor, and thus she introduced the Comforter, divine Science, to me.

Upon receiving the glad information from the Clerk of The Mother Church that I had been accepted for membership, I began to consider whether there was any condition about which I should pray for healing. My health was excellent. But there was a growth on one toe that from time to time for the past sixty years—since my boyhood days—had given me cause to fret. Over the years I had consulted chiropodists and skin specialists in the United States and in London and Taipei, but no one could give it a cure.

I now prayerfully applied what I had learned since becoming a student of Science and taking Christian Science class instruction. One night shortly thereafter I noticed that the growth was not there; it had gone. After so many years the disagreeable thing had disappeared!
