I was first introduced to Christian Science when I was nearing what is considered retirement age. At that time I was healed of arthritis of the spine, which doctors had said was incurable. Soon I was also healed of digestive disorders of very long standing. My testimony in a 1977 issue of the Sentinel relates these healings.
The poor health from which I had suffered for many years had made it very difficult for me to make ends meet, let alone save money. When the building where I had my dressmaking studio was sold, I had no studio, no job, and no income. I felt utterly useless without any work, and I prayed that God would show me how I could still be useful.
The very next morning I was offered a job for which I had no training, but where the foreign languages I speak were very helpful. I continued to pray that I would be able to be useful.
