In the chapter "Marriage" in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy we read (p. 57), "Happiness is spiritual, born of Truth and Love." I feel gratitude for an experience that proved this to me.

My first marriage was very unhappy and ended in divorce; and although the human side of the situation was resolved, over the following years memories of incidents within the marriage would cause me great distress. Then one day it was pointed out to me that in my thought I needed to separate evil from man, who is God's perfect, spiritual idea.

This simple truth was like the light turned on in a darkened room. Christ Jesus taught us the parable of the tares and the wheat, and Science and Health states (p. 466), "The Science of Christianity comes with fan in hand to separate the chaff from the wheat." I saw clearly that I needed to root out of consciousness thoughts of fear, resentment, and bitterness. And as I prayed to see the true man as God's perfect expression, the divine likeness, the burden of wrong thinking rolled away; and I received a full healing of the mental turmoil.
