I feel that I might be part of a "silent majority" of Christian Scientists...

I feel that I might be part of a "silent majority" of Christian Scientists who have never tried to write a testimony—a testimony of gratitude for all of the healings my family and I have had over the years. I'm a lifelong Christian Scientist with a grown family, and I have so much to be grateful for!

First, I'm grateful for this wonderful Science, discovered by Mrs. Eddy, which teaches us what God really is and shows that harmony and joy are rightfully ours. God's care has included healings of concussion, broken bones, strained ligaments, delirium, learning difficulties, tooth decay, blood deficiency (overnight when our daughter was born), severe headaches, and flu. But, perhaps most of all, I'm grateful for the harmony, joy, and happiness expressed in our home and extended family.

One healing that particularly stands out happened a few years ago while I was snow skiing. I was coming down a hill when my ski caught on some bare ground and I fell. As I fell, it felt and sounded as if bones were breaking in my knee. When I tried to stand I couldn't. As the ski patrol brought me down from the hill, I remembered everything I could about my perfect spiritual selfhood as the idea of God. My prayers included the Lord's Prayer and "the scientific statement of being" from page 468 of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I tried to fill my thought with genuine love and a deeper understanding of the truth of my identity as God's child.
